Cardi B named Billboard's woman of the year

Hip hop star Cardi B struck the right chord with Billboard in 2020 en route to being named the magazine’s Woman of the Year.

The artist from the Bronx was officially declared the recipient of the annual honor in a cover story published Wednesday.

Billboard listed Cardi B’s support for prominent social causes, her advocacy for voting and the release of her raunchy hit song “WAP” as reasons why the rapper had a big year.

“I want to show people that you can do positive things, but you can also be yourself,” Cardi B told the magazine.
